A short film telling the Soho cholera story, 'Snow', has just been shot in Los Angeles. Isaac Ergas, USC Graduate Film Production Student, was recently awarded a grant from The Sloan Foundation to begin development on a short live action film about Dr. John Snow and his fight against Cholera. Ergas received his Masters of Public Health in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2001. Now, after writing and directing several festival-bound films, he is nearly finished with his Masters of Fine Arts degree in film and television production at the University of Southern California. Isaac Ergas, M.P.H. '01, was awarded a grant from The Sloan Foundation to begin development on a short live-action film about Dr. John Snow and his fight against cholera (www.snowthemovie.com). Specifically, the film focuses on Snow's activities in London during the sweltering summer of 1854 and the days leading up to the historic moment of removing the handle from the Broad Street Pump. Ergas is working on his M.F.A. in film and television production at the University of Southern California.
